This is pretty cool looking. The deep blues of the sky and the deep oranges of the land are very complimentary and the cloud work makes it very dramatic. I have a couple of constructive comments, it you don't mind. There are a couple of spots where the dark blue of the sky gives way to light blue (I assume from the original sky) next to the dark edge of the plateau, which looks kind of odd. You might consider doing a selection of the sky right up to and including the first or second pixel into the plateau, when you paint the sky so that you get a clean edge and consistent sky. If you don't want it to be that clean you can add a two or three pixel feather as well. Also your fortress is blended in so well as to make it almost unnoticeable. That may be what you were aiming for, in which case you succeeded, but if you wanted to draw attention to it a little more you might have used a slightly different material or had the road lead up to it so that the eye is drawn to it. Anyway, just a couple of thoughts, for what they are worth.

Thanks for your constructive critisism. As you can see I've been away from DeviantArt quite awhile but am now catching up. I didn't purposely bring attention to the fortress itself because I wanted people to search for it. This is one of my first matte paintings so I'm in the learning process. Thanks for your insight.
